Hello and welcome to my website.

I am a Medical Herbalist who offers herbal consultations in Dr Clare’s Apothecary and Clinic in Galway. I have been working alongside Dr. Dílis Clare and her clinical team since 2014 where I offer onsite and online herbal medicine appointments.

My interest in Herbal Medicine began during my floristry training at the Agricultural University of Iceland (my home country). Following on from this, I spent some time working as a dispenser in a herbal pharmacy in Iceland where I followed a herbal protocol which successfully assisted my own long-standing health issues. This encouraged me to take things further by moving to London to study Herbal Medicine at the University of Westminster. I qualified with a BSc (Hons) from University of Westminster in 2008 at which point I moved to Dublin to set up my own practice. After having teamed up with Dr. Dílis Clare and her clinical team in 2014, I travelled between my two clinics before finally making a decision to close my Dublin clinic and transferring all my clinic work to be based at Sea Road in Galway.

In addition to clinic work, I work with Heartwood, which is a online professional herbal medcine training programme based in the UK which offers high quality herbal medicine training for those that want to get involved in clinical herbal medicine. They also offer a foundation course in herbal medicine for anyone wanting to gain understanding of the foundations of herbal medicine. I participated in setting up the clinical training scheme for the Heartwood clinical trainers as well as being currently involved in the clinical training for the students at Heartwood.

Finally I frequently offer talks and workshops on numerous topics, including herbal medicine, clinical education as well as carrying out herb walks in various locations.

My interest in plants has only grown through the years of working and studying herbal medicine which has in recent times led me to move to the country side, just outside of Galway, where I now grow my own vegetables as well as many medicinal herbs, plants, trees and shrubs with the aim of expanding this further.
